Alpaca Waves Scarf
Simple wave pattern scarf knit in Mountain Colors Alpaca Blend. A single skein makes a generous and luxurious scarf. What could be more beautiful?

The Size:
10" x 62"

The Materials:
Mountain Colors Alpaca Blend, 1 skein, 440 yds
US #9 knitting needle

The Model Shown in:
Ruby River

The Gauge:
4.5 sts/ in over pattern stitch

The Definitions:
K2tog = knit 2 stitches together (single decrease)
Yo = yarn over (single increase)
Double decrease = slip 1, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over the following stitch

The Knitting:
Cast on 47 stitches. Work 4 rows in garter stitch (knit every row). Start knitting in pattern as follows:

Row 1: k4, k2tog, k2, yo * k1, yo, k3, double decrease, k3, yo*, repeat * to * twice more, end with k1, yo, k2, k2tog, k4.
Row 2: knit
Row 3: knit
Row 4: k4, purl to last 4 stitches, k4

Continue repeating these four rows until about 10 yards of yarn remain. Knit 4 rows. Bind off
